Description

Yet another of my doodles, yet again a little longer than the last. This time because there was a *tiny* failure in power and my Mac restarted. I lost everything between sketching Ireyah's torso to finishing Thaylien. All that work just... went.

Anyway, this is also a sketch that I've been wanting to do for some time. If anybody wanted to know what went wrong with Thaylien, what shakes him out of his little world and makes him grow as a person at last... this is it. Or rather, this is the start of it.

My whole story of SLL is one of growth, from student to master, from child to adult, from hate to love, from acquaintance to friends for life. Thaylien, however, never grows as a person. He makes friends, branches out, tries new things and opens up, but he's still the same. Ireyah... well she goes through quite a bit to get where she is, so her growth is constant. The other four all have their own little turning points where they begin to change and better themselves... Thaylien doesn't, not until this.

Look closely at this image, I haven't included gore, but if I finish it I'll have to... And look at Thaylien in particular here; what's the most wrong with this picture?

Okay, I know that the whole thing is wrong. Thaylien and Ireyah beaten? Defeated? Bruised and broken like bit-part actors in a Bruce Lee film?

But I'll give you all a hint: Regular people usually have ten of them.

Download the file, it's bigger.

Love you all, and I'll catch you later,

I know that this is one of your older pieces, but I love the sense of emotion in this - the expressive and nuanced poses really give this a feel of realism I've rarely--if ever--seen in a drawing, particularly lineart! As *uvnote said below, the body language here is exceptional. It's a very powerful piece!
