Been a little while ^^

I return to my digital for just a little while between practicing my pencil work... and look what happens. Kirianna leaps, spins, kicks and dances her way out of my head.

Anybody feel like having a little colouring practice? Go ahead, downloadable version is large enough for most, I may even have a try at it myself later ^^ For those of you that don't know Kirianna, have a look back in my gallery for reference, and thanks to you too :floating: Only one rule: come and link me to it when you're done! I like to know where my stuff gets to.

Ahh, but I do love her, she's just... so adorable, my little other-half-of-me.

Thanks for sticking with me everyone, I'll be back with more updates later.
FN!

Wow.
Did you use references for this, or did you just do this out of your head?
Incredible.

An even mix, I think. Heck I can't even remember which ones were or weren't anymore :floating:

I've got a project in the works to show how much I draw for female anatomy projects, I'm redrawing and cleaning up a vast amount of my sketches. You'll see them soon and then this will look like peanuts ^^

Thankyou though, my Kirianna is my personal muse; when she's here I draw better and the work turns out how I wanted it. When she's not... it's usually better if I don't try. And when I'm drawing *her* it turns out fantastic, no matter what others think of it :floating:

awh :) That's awesome that you have such a connection like that. I want to create my own character, but they all end up looking like me and having that cheeky, mischievous aura I seem to give off. :D

Then that's easy; start by creating one that's entirely *unlike* you; on purpose.

The way I create characters is a little odd, I tend to think of what the world I'm putting them into needs.

If I happened to be making a world where vampires existed, I'd consider whether vampires were secret, or whether the world knew, whether they were hunted, or whether they were the hunters.

Then I'd say 'what's the sitch?' are the vampires on the verge of taking over the world and somebody needs to stop them? Are they on the verge of extinction and somebody needs to save them? Are they about to go to war, and somebody needs to avert/start it?

What kind of person is needed to fill that role?

Are they suited for it? Or are they just *there* for it?

From these questions, I derive a character that needs to exist, and whether they're good for it, or bad for it in a good way. And so I then make a character to fill the role.

And *then* I make them quirky! Do they loooove chicken? Are they conscious of their body in a bad way? Do they have a hidden talent for dance that will come in handy in convincing a group of people to help them on their way? Quirks make the character. The more things you have to bring in, or the more you develop the same quirk to affect different situations, the more real they seem :floating:

Annnd... I've rambled on for way too long. Hope that helps, but I'm late, gotta go!

That's a VERY clever way to do it.
I'll give that a go next time around.

[Also sneaks because he was out for the four days over New Year]

Wow, I'm so pleased that they actually pass muster with you ^^ I was expecting a little more constructive critique from you on these. Well, not that I don't do that enough to myself most days, but thankyou, I'm truly glad you like it. :floating:

I don't know how you got the reference (in head, or photo), but whatever it is I envy that! The first thing that catches my eye is the diverse angles. Second, of course, is the dynamic posing. It's an audacious, thoughtful (like yourself) pencil piece and very inspiring.
